    Rachel Welland (Owner + Coordinator)

    Rachel Welland of Bliss Events is one of San Diego’s most sought-after Wedding Specialists and Event Coordinators. Rachel, along with her Bliss Events team, have had the pleasure of working with some of the city’s most stylish and discerning clientele to create everything from dream-like weddings to dazzling private affairs.

    Rachel’s passion for event planning developed at an early age when she organized her 4th grade school pajama party… and ever since that day, her limitless energy, creativity, and gift of organization have provided her with the winning combination of skills needed to excel in the industry. Rachel continued planning events throughout high school, college, and beyond - in every genre from fundraising galas and auctions, to weddings and social soirées, to trade shows and community service programs.

    Rachel obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design and soon after began her professional career working at top interior design firms in Atlanta and San Diego as well as in the textile and furniture industries as an Account and Project Manager. Rachel’s interior design expertise greatly enhances the event concepts and designs she creates for her clients, giving them added style and dimension.

    Rachel also gained abundant experience and a deep knowledge of the hospitality industry through her work at the prestigious L’Auberge Del Mar Resort and Spa. This “behind the scenes” knowledge of venue logistics has proven invaluable and helps Rachel as she directs her clients’ events with seamless execution.

    Rachel furthers her industry education with active membership in NACE (National Association of Catering Executives) and attendance at monthly events by NACE and ABC (Association of Bridal Consultants). She also proudly served as an Executive Board Member of NACE San Diego for three years and was the Chair of their 2009 annual fundraising gala. In addition, she holds a certification through the UCSD (University of California San Diego) Special Events and Meeting Management Program. In early 2009, Rachel had the honor of being invited to be a part of Exquisite Weddings Magazine’s Advisory Board, a position she continues to hold. In 2010 she was named “Innovator Under 30” and “Queen of Matrimony” by 944 Magazine San Diego. She also was awarded “Woman-Owned Small Business of the Year 2010” by the Small Business Administration (SBA) of San Diego & Imperial Counties. In addition, she was a 2010 nominee for “Woman of the Year” by San Diego Magazine.

    Rachel’s passion for working with people and celebrating life’s exciting moments has led her to dedicate herself to the creation and execution of fabulous weddings and events at Bliss Events.

    Christina Tolpa (Coordinator)

    Christina is well known in the event industry for taking creativity, organization, and reliability to another level. In 2006, Christina launched one of San Diego’s first candy buffet businesses, which quickly gained her a reputation for thoughtful design and colorful presentation. As a Wedding + Event Coordinator, Christina combines her passion for design with over 10 years of management experience to successfully execute all types of special events, from weddings to prestigious corporate parties.

    Christina stays current with industry trends and guidelines as a member of ISES (International Special Event Society) and as a participant in the well-respected Event Management Program at the University of San Diego. She is also a proud supporter of Brides Against Breast Cancer and believes strongly in the cause.

    Christina’s goal is to translate her clients’ visions and one-of-a-kind stories into unforgettable events, and her priority is to make sure they are seamlessly executed. She is thrilled to be part of Bliss Events’ amazing team!

    Paige Jensen (Coordinator)

    Paige loves people, loves planning, and most importantly loves planning for people. She has great attention for detail and delights in celebrating all of life’s memorable moments. Her innate ability to relate to people and understand their wants and needs inspires her to add unique touches to each event she plans. Paige truly enjoys taking the bits and pieces of a client’s vision and organizing them into a refined event!

    Paige has a wide range of event operations and planning experience. Her passion for events started at a young age but heightened in college with unique experiences working in the Event Operations Department for NBC at the Greece Summer Olympics and with the USGA at the Golf US Open. Paige then worked as Assistant Events Director at the San Diego Hall of Champions where she planned many types of events: bar/bat mitzvahs, corporate events, dinners for over one thousand guests, and of course her favorite- weddings! At the same time, Paige was competing as a professional beach volleyball athlete where she honed her skills as a disciplined and dedicated person both on and off the court.

    A few years ago Paige began coordinating weddings and small functions as a career. She has now joined the Bliss Events team as a Professional Wedding & Event Coordinator, bringing her vast event knowledge along with her energy and creativity to serve all types of clients.

    Staci Tiras Jones (Coordinator)

    Staci Tiras-Jones has over 12 years of in-depth experience planning special events. She first fell in love with event planning at the Sheraton San Diego Harbor Island where she began her hospitality career. It is there that her passion for detail and creating events unique to each specific client began. She continued her career at the Westin Horton Plaza, and most recently, was part of the Management Team that opened the Hard Rock Hotel San Diego, where Staci helped create Banquet Menus & Hard Rock's Unique Wedding Experience while working as a Senior Catering Manager.

    Throughout the years, Staci has been active in a variety of industry organizations: ABC (Association of Bridal Consultants), NACE (National Association of Catering Executives) and was a founding member of BESA (Bar/Bat Mitzvah Event Specialists Association). She has been a guest speaker at a variety of Hospitality Classes, as well as featured on the Wedding Professionals Panel at the prestigious Special Event Convention 2007 in Los Angeles.

    Staci has a passion for detail, whether it's creating unique menus, designing and implementing event specific decor, or working with her clients to ensure a flawless event! She is accustomed to working in venues, both as a Catering Manager as well as a Coordinator. She feels equally comfortable planning both social and corporate events, and has a clear understanding of the different nuances specific to each type of event.

    Staci feels very lucky to continue her successful Event Management and Coordination career with Bliss Events!

    Emily Bennett (Associate Coordinator)

    Emily’s passion for wedding coordination has been many years in the making. It became even more evident as she was constantly chosen by many close friends to be their Maid of Honor and planner for their bridal showers and weddings.  (Fact: she has been a Maid of Honor FIVE times!) Through these experiences she learned the many details of wedding planning and when she connected with Bliss Events it was a perfect fit.  With her strong sense of design and organization, Emily likes to make sure that each client’s special day is enjoyable and unforgettable.  She graduated from San Diego State University with a BA in Interior Design and continued her education to the Extended Studies Program at SDSU to receive her Event Planning Certification.  In addition to working with Bliss Events, she has been working in the Interior Design field for the over 9 years with well-known San Diego design firms.

    Jennifer Simpson (Associate Coordinator)

    Jennifer encompasses all the important skills of a successful Event Coordinator, including organization, friendliness, decisiveness, and flexibility. Jennifer has a career background rich in event and meeting planning. She holds a degree in Recreation and Tourism Management and has worked in Phoenix as an Event Manager at a venue. In San Diego, Jennifer has continued to develop her experience and knowledge by working for a distinguished Meeting Planning firm as well as esteemed hotels such as L'Auberge Del Mar, Westin San Diego, and Sheraton Suites San Diego at Symphony Hall. Jennifer is honored to be coordinating weddings and events for the wonderful clients of Bliss Events!

    Jenny Bauman (Founder and Advisor)

    Jenny's distinguished career as an Events Coordinator began in Washington, DC producing elaborate weddings and soirees for the DC elite. After moving to San Diego, Jenny coordinated corporate events for clients such as IBM and CBS Television before becoming the Event Coordinator for KPBS Radio and Television. Drawn back toward the intimate collaboration with brides, Jenny returned to the wonderful world of weddings as an on-site Wedding Coordinator for a local San Diego hotel, where her daydreams were spent on the creation of Bliss Events, founded in April 2004! Currently, Jenny resides in the Bay Area of Northern California, coordinating events for Silicon Valley’s premier business organization.
